Te Wiki o Te Reo Māori

Last week in our Cybersmart time with Kōka Amie, she was teaching us about using a tool to select colours on a theme or brand.  We looked at the theme colours of the Te Wiki o Te Reo Māori resources on their website and designed badges using these colours.

Our badges used some familiar phrases, such as Ka pānui ahau or Ka waiata ahau, but when we made our badges, many of us used Ka tākaro ahau, which for some of us was a new phrase.  It means, 'I will play'.

In the centre of our badges, we created our own images that reflected something that we like playing.  Can you see all the different types of kupu we've shared with you?

What do you like best about our badges?

    1. Kia ora Room 15,
I really liked How we all had different ideas about something we like.
I learnt how to say some phrases in Maori by looking at the badges.
Maybe you could make sure you put your badge in the middle of the page.
      Have you learnt something new.

  2. Kia ora Room 15,
I really liked the way that you all planned out your badges in a way that is helpful and persuasive.
I learnt that all of you are great at imagining things that would be amazing and helpful.
Maybe you could try to use more of the same six colours in some of them.
Have you learnt any Maori words throughout these slides and through your badge.

  6. Kia ora room 15 All of our badges for Te wiki o Te Reo Maori are really cool and colourful and All of them are creative. I think everyone came up with great ideas and stuck to the brief by only using the selected colours and everyone used the tools polyline and curve really well. Next time maybe we could experiment with the gradient tool with the 6 colours. Kia pai to mahi Rm 15

  7. Kia ora Room 15 all of our badges are spectacular and colourful. You all had very creative ideas. I liked how they were things that you admire and what you like. And everyone completed the challenge. Lots of people used tools such as polylines and curves. Next time we could use costume gradients with the colours for the challenge. But apart from that we all completed the challenge and all finished our bages.Mahi pai !!

  11. Kia ora everyone!

I really liked Everybody used cool shapes doing the badges, and that it's nice and colourful And that they are different and not the same.
I learnt that you don’t have to have a good badge, it just has to be colourful, bright, and have different words.
Maybe everyone could add some more colours, and
    things to their badge
Have you checked if you like it first? Because if your not 100% sure, then you can go back and add things to it
